From the Secretary’s Desk:
RAANA began just three short years ago as seed in the mind of Thomas Mathew Ellil. It was his brilliant vision that allowed
that seed to grow into the organization we know today. For the past three years, RAANA has held
meetings once a year to handle business and to have fun with our college alumni and their families. The third annual RAANA meeting was held in
Queens, New York on September 4, 2004. It was a very enjoyable event for all who attended and those who were unable to be there were certainly missed. After socializing quite a bit, it was time to discuss business matters. A main point on the agenda was to select a new president for the upcoming year.
Our 2003-2004 president, Pexy, nominated Thayilparampil Varughese John (Achayen) for the position. He was unanimously elected and given the full power to select his own office bearers. The men and women he selected were Sandra Thekkumthala, Shivanand S. Pillai, Revathy Devaraj, Jaya Babu, Thomas T. Idiculla, Merlin Francis, Babloo Chacko, Rajeev Rajgopal, Thomas Matthew Ellil, Beena, Thankamani Aravindan, Manoj Babu, Jano James, Navas Yoonus, Reji Joseph, Reji Mon Matthew, Toms Matthew, Tobby Raju Manimalethu, El Tigani, Mathew Varghese, Shiva Kumar, Unni Tharakan, Vinu Varghese Jacob, Russel Jose, P.Pandikumar, John Thokkadan, Rajesh Thalapparambath, and Sanoj.
It would now be his duty, along with his office bearers, to make RAANA an even more successful organization than it had been for the past three years.
Thayilparampil Varughese John has proven to be a very wise leader throughout his life. When he attended college in the Homeland, he and a close group of friends created Countdown, a cultural program held at Christmas time for fellow students. He was the first student ever in the college to manage three departments at once through Countdown. Leading such a program was a painstaking and very challenging effort. He organized the program for three years and it was a great success. Also, he has consistently made himself available for fellow students and recent graduates to help them in any possible way and to offer them guidance.
RAANA is still a very young organization that needs the full support of its members to grow and mature. This cannot happen without confidence in its president and the decisions that he makes. He has the ability and experience to unite our members and fulfill RAANA’s mission. He is a man of unshakeable faith and we must all maintain faith in him as president to strengthen this organization and make it prosper in order to benefit us all and benefit future generations.
Sincerely,
Thomas T. Idiculla
